Tianjin weather is classified as semi-moist continental monsoon, largely modified by the city’s location in the middle latitudes on the east bank of the European-Asian continent, facing the Pacific. During the summer season, Tianjin weather is greatly influenced by the city’s proximity to the ocean, the continent being the dominant factor of its disposition during winter. This results in great fluctuation in temperature throughout the year as well as four distinct seasons in Tianjin weather.
Summers in Tianjin commence in May and run through to August. During the summer season Tianjin weather remains hot and wind, largely because of the monsoon influence. Temperatures hover around 31C during the day and 21C during the night, with July being the warmest month of the season. As a general rule, heat remains bearable throughout the season; it’s the rather high levels of precipitation that cause the biggest concern. With the monsoon setting in during July, downpours become frequent and heavy lending a somewhat unbearable interface to the atmosphere.
The winter season in Tianjin lasts from October to mid-March. With chilly winds blowing in from the north, temperatures frequently drop bellow freezing point, usually nestling at a cold -4C. During winter humidity also takes a nose dive and snowfall is abundant. Autumn is cool, characterized by mild and pleasant temperatures.
